Frequently asked questions
What is flotilla sailing?
Flotilla sailing involves a group of yachts sailing together under the guidance of a lead boat, which is staffed by experienced sailors. This format combines the freedom of sailing your own yacht with the support and social aspects of traveling in a group. It's perfect for both novice and experienced sailors.
Do I need sailing experience to join a flotilla?
To ensure a smooth and safe journey, it’s important to have some sailing experience and the right licenses. Since our flotilla sailing is also designed for less experienced day skippers, we are here to help in all stages of sailing. If you are not comfortable enough, we invite you to join our training, where you will gain additional skills and practice to sail flotilla later.
To charter a bareboat sailboat, please make sure you have a valid skipper's license issued by your home country's state authority. Sailing in Croatian territorial waters requires a valid international certificate of competence and a VHF radio license. If you're uncertain about the adequacy of your permit for Croatian waters, we encourage you to check which boating licenses from your country are recognized here.
Each flotilla has a lead crew who can assist you with navigation, anchoring, and handling the boat. It's a great way to upgrade sailing skills in a safe and supportive environment.
Enjoy your sailing experience with confidence!
How long do flotilla sailing trips last?
Flotilla trips can vary in length, typically ranging from one week to two weeks. This allows for a thorough exploration of different islands and attractions without feeling rushed.
What can I see and do during a flotilla sailing trip in Croatia?
The Croatian Adriatic Sea is renowned for its clear blue waters, historic towns, and beautiful islands. During your flotilla sailing trip, you can explore secluded bays, visit ancient coastal towns, enjoy local cuisine, and participate in water sports like snorkeling and diving.
How can I contact you?

How many yachts are in the flotilla?
We maintain an intimate and relaxed flotilla experience by limiting the number to no more than five sailing boats. This way, you can enjoy your sailing holiday without the crowds, ensuring a serene journey on every wave.
Is flotilla sailing in Croatia suitable for families with children?
Yes, flotilla sailing is a fantastic family adventure. It’s suitable for children, offering them a unique experience to learn about sailing and the marine environment, while also engaging in various water-based activities.
What should I pack for a flotilla sailing trip?
For flotilla sailing, it's important to pack light and include items such as swimwear, light layers for evenings, a windbreaker, non-slip shoes, sun protection (sunscreen, hats, sunglasses), and a camera. Also, soft bags are recommended over hard suitcases as they are easier to store on board.
What is the best time of year to go flotilla sailing in Croatia?
